Renton Reporter’s Minimum Wage Forum!

Initiative Measure 23-02 is now on the February 13th Special Election and ballots are in the mail!

Renton Reporter is hosting a Minimum Wage Forum on Wednesday, January 31st at 7:00PM at the Carco Theater. Details below:

The Renton Reporter will host a public forum featuring supporters and opponents of the proposed minimum wage increase that will go before voters in next month’s special election. The forum will also be live-streamed on the Renton Reporter’s Facebook page. RSVP to their posted Facebook Events page here!

Here at Raise the Wage Renton, we hope to invite the local community to show solidarity and support for this critical legislation. Whether you have supported this campaign in the past with a donation, as a volunteer, or by spreading the word, we invite you to take part in this exciting forum! Please arrive on time to ensure you have a place to sit.

Event is indoors, accessible and hosted by the Renton Reporter. The moderated forum will feature panelists from the “pro” and “con” sides of the issue.

The “pro” side will include representatives & advocates of the Raise the Wage Renton, including;

  • Guillermo Zazueta, Chair of Raise the Wage Renton

  • Michael Westgaard, Former Renton City Council Candidate & SEIU 925 Shop Steward

  • Carmen Rivera, Renton City Councilmember

The “con” side will include representatives and advocates from the local business community, including;

  • Diane Dobson, Renton Chamber of Commerce CEO

  • James Alberson, Renton City Councilmember & Renton Chamber Executive Board Member

  • Ramandeep Mann, local business owner
